Building an online shoe store on Shopify.
I made a shoe store using Shopify as part of a school assignment. I didn’t handle the design aspect. I utilized the Shopify theme “Dawn” and customized it for Japanese users.
Linking to the design organized by collections.
The design features a simple and intuitive layout to guide users towards newly arrived products, recommended items, and category-specific selections. Additionally, the product data for each category is configured to be displayed appropriately.
Customization tailored for Japanese users.
Since the Dawn theme is originally designed for an international audience, by default, the address entry fields place the last name after the first name. When creating a site for Japanese users, it’s crucial to make such fine-tuned adjustments from the user’s perspective.
After registering as a member, users can have their own accounts. It was necessary to customize the order of address entry fields on the member information page to align with the familiar sequence for Japanese users.
After a customer places an order, a notification email is sent to the shop owner.
The shop owner receives a summary email immediately after an order is placed, ensuring quick acknowledgment. The email includes payment details, delivery method, and shipping information. It also provides a “注文を表示する” (“View Order”) button that allows the owner to access the management dashboard directly from the email. The appearance of this email is also customized to align with the overall design of the store.
